The Africa investor Zimbabwe Roundtable on Infrastructure, PPP and Tourism Opportunities rallies business and government leaders.

By Shanna | January 28, 2010

South Africa, Zimbabwe, 28 January 2010: Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment research and communications group, today confirmed senior government participation at its Roundtable on Infrastructure, PPPs and Tourism, in association with the Government of Zimbabwe, taking place 15-17 February 2010.

The Roundtable will be the first showcase of infrastructure, tourism and PPP project opportunities in Zimbabwe this year to the international investment community. Zimbabwe has implemented a number of changes which have fundamentally improved the country’s investment climate, including the lifting of exchange controls and offering attractive investment incentives. Additionally, an Investment Protection Treaty has been signed and put in place with the South African government, affording additional confidence to the international investment and donor community.

Government Ministers responsible for finance, mining, infrastructure, ICT, PPPs, tourism, economic planning and health have already confirmed their participation at the Roundtable. Leading private and development finance institutions have also confirmed their involvement in the Roundtable; among them, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Finance Corporation, the African Export-Import Bank, the Africa Finance Corporation, Actis, the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), plus many others.

Project pitches and one-on-one meetings between government, investors and business leaders in Zimbabwe will be facilitated by Africa investor, a number of which have already been confirmed.

The Africa investor Zimbabwe Investment Roundtable will take place on 17 February 2010 at the Rainbow Towers, Harare, following the prestigious Africa investor Pan-African Tourism Summit and Awards (15-17 February) to be held at the same venue. Summit sponsors and partners include the Government of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), CNN International, African Export-Import Bank, African Sun, The Regional Tourism Organization of Southern Africa (RETOSA), Meikles, NEPAD Business Group, Native Investments, NEPAD, Africa Project Access, Africa Travel Channel, Reconnect Africa and The Standard.
